The board meeting of Galatasaray Club took place in April.

The board meeting, chaired by Aykutalp Derkan in the presence of Galatasaray Club’s chairman Dursun Özbek and other board members, was held at Galatasaray High School. During the meeting, certificates of success were presented to the players of the women’s volleyball team, who won the CEV Cup, and to the technical staff and coaches.

The board members applauded the players as they received their awards. Additionally, the men’s table tennis team, which reached the final of the European Challenger Cup, was honored.

İbrahim Hatipoğlu, a member of the Galatasaray Sports and Economic Management Board, presented the financial report for the period from 1 June 2025 to 28 February 2026 during the meeting. Later, Mete İkiz, a board member, discussed the comparison of broadcasting rights revenue from the Super League and leading European leagues.

After the board members’ speeches, Özbek made a statement, sharing the significant real estate investments they had made:

“We have made substantial real estate investments outside of our sports activities, totaling approximately 75 million euros. We have developed Galatasaray Island and facilities in Kemerburgaz. We are constructing a building in Mecidiyeköy. I speak with many people as the chairman of Galatasaray. Today, everyone is pushing Galatasaray to new heights. We need a little more support from the management. I am asking for this from everyone. We are also working on the project in Riva. Soon, the project in Florya will begin. We have started construction of the academy building in Kemerburgaz.”

Özbek continued, expressing their goal to bring Galatasaray to its best:

“If I hadn’t made a 75 million euro real estate investment, we wouldn’t have had the need for a loan. We are making real estate investments. Sometimes we are forced to take on debt in the process of implementing our projects. Sometimes we use our own resources. Taking on debt is not a disaster. We took out a mortgage. We have a nearly 60-unit apartment in Mecidiyeköy. We had previously taken out a mortgage for this property under an agreement with the Banking Union. We have transferred this mortgage to another credit institution.”
